LINKS TO FINRA INFORMATION ON UNDERLYING BONDS IN TRUST CERTIFICATES

Re-dating Some earlier Gateway Posts

Added 6/3/2009: The prospectus links for the Trust Certificates identified by symbols below can be found easily by becoming a member of the QuantumOnline site. That site links the stock symbols with the correct prospectuses. Registration is required but the site is free. The Trust Certificates can be found under the heading "Income Tables" then click "Third Party Trust Preferred Securities" Third Party Trust Preferred Securities Table - QuantumOnline.com

That is far easier than trying to find the prospectus links in my blog, though links can be found for most of them. I always suggest checking the price of the underlying bond in a TC at the FINRA site and the prospectus for the TC before making any decision on the TCs. Some TCs have a higher coupon than the underlying bond ( e.g. XKK, JBI, DKF, JZH) while others have a lower coupon (e.g. DKR, JZE or XFL). Some of the underlying bonds and the relevant TC have the same coupon (e.g. PJS). An adjustment needs to be made based on any difference in coupons and discounts to par value when comparing prices for the underlying bond and the related TC. The maturity date should always be the same.
